What the platform collects, why it processes it, how long it keeps it, and what you can switch off.

Last updated 23 August 2026.

Scope

This policy covers the Up Skill FX web platform. It explains what is collected, why it is processed, how long it is kept and what control you have. It does not cover any third-party site you reach from a link inside a lesson.

What is collected — account data

Your email address and an authentication identifier, created when you register. Passwords are never visible to the platform: they are stored as salted hashes by the managed authentication service and cannot be read back by anyone, including the operator.

What is collected — learning data

Lesson and lecture completions, assessment attempts and per-question answers, scenario commitments, drill and news-reaction responses, replay session decisions, journal entries and trades, playbook rules and retirements, capability scores with their evidence trail, mnemonic review schedules and walkthrough records. This is the substance of the product: without it no capability score, readiness verdict or certificate can be computed.

What is collected — mentor conversations

Messages you send to ARIE and its replies are stored against your account so the conversation has continuity and so behavioural patterns can be surfaced back to you. Mentor prompts include a summary of your recent activity; they never include your email address or credentials.

What is collected — technical data

Standard server request data (timestamp, request path, response status and error diagnostics) is generated when the application runs, for security and fault diagnosis. There is no advertising network, no cross-site tracker, no fingerprinting and no sale of data to anyone.

Local storage on your device

Interface preferences — your mastery bar, last-viewed lecture, Listen tab voice choice and your consent decision itself — are held in your browser's local storage, not on the server. Clearing site data removes them and resets the platform's interface to defaults; your account records are unaffected.

Why it is processed

To authenticate you and protect your account; to deliver lessons and drills; to compute deterministic capability, mastery and readiness metrics from your own recorded evidence; to schedule adaptive practice against the exact lectures you missed; to issue certificates; and to keep the service secure and working. There is no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.

Analytics and your choice

Analytics are optional and switched off unless you explicitly turn them on in the consent banner. When enabled, only anonymous aggregate counts of surface usage are recorded so stalled lessons can be identified. Analytics data is never joined to your journal, mentor conversations or assessment answers, and turning it off stops collection immediately.

Where it is stored and who can reach it

Records are held in a managed Postgres database with row-level security so each row is readable only by the account that owns it. Access is enforced at the database, not just in the interface. Administrative access is limited to the platform operator, and no learning data is shared with advertisers, data brokers or other learners.

Processors

The platform relies on a managed cloud backend for database, authentication and file storage, and on a model gateway that generates mentor replies. Mentor requests carry only the conversation and your activity summary. No market-data vendor, broker or paid data provider is contacted at any time — the platform is historical-data-only by design and holds no live feed connection.

Retention

Account and learning records are kept for as long as your account exists, because capability and mastery are cumulative and decay arithmetic depends on the history. Mentor conversations are kept for the life of the account so behavioural patterns remain traceable. Technical request logs are short-lived and retained only as long as needed for diagnosis. On deletion, account and learning records are removed within 30 days, apart from anything a legal obligation requires be kept longer.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your records, correct anything inaccurate, delete your account and its learning history, withdraw optional storage consent at any time, and object to any processing that is not needed to run the service. Requests are handled by the platform operator through the contact route provided when your account was created.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Authentication is delegated to a managed provider. Database access is governed by row-level policies and privileged operations are restricted to server-side code. No system is perfectly secure; do not enter live account numbers or broker credentials, because nothing on the platform requires them.

Children

The platform is not intended for anyone under 18 and no account should be created for a minor.

Changes

Material changes to this policy are reflected in the last-updated date below the title. Where a change affects the storage categories, your consent is requested again.

Storage categories
